Carve a story stick

Eli Beke

Old Railway Station Bridgewater

Saturday 2pm-3.30pm

This workshop focuses on knife carving techniques, relating to the way people would sit around a fire carving up a stick while telling stories. You’ll learn the skills and enjoy the age-old pleasure of sharing stories, taking home your own carved stick to remember both how to and why we carve in wood.

Eli is a master craftsman who makes tools as well as functional wood objects and stunning art objects. He is praised for the way he combines safe techniques, individual attention and consideration of the meditative health-giving benefits of working with wood.

This workshop is ideal for those who want to see if carving is for them at the same time as seeing a professional artist at work close up.
