The Print and the Passion

Helen Timbury

Mysia War Memorial School

Helen Timbury knows just what it feels like to sit in a farmhouse kitchen, look out over an iconic landscape, and start the art journey. First in far east Gippsland, later in Wedderburn, and now in a garage studio in Drouin, Helen has turned her passion into a much-admired career. Illustrating, designing, creating limited edition art prints, she is an inspirational advocate for how to use ever-changing flora and fauna in an art practice that is as richly rewarding as the natural world.

Helen brings her work, including some new bush-and-shelter prints, to this incredibly unique venue where you will be astonished at how beautifully art sits within the walls of a little art deco building that means so much to the Mysia community.

EVENT Saturday 10am-3pm Go bush. Using foraged leaves, grasses, seed pods and feathers, or photographs of your favourite places, Helen Timbury will guide you through the exhilarating process of creating your own linocut print. For beginners and those wanting to improve their skills, this workshop, out on the heart-lifting Mysia plains in the very special heritage Mysia School, will refresh your thinking and show you how satisfying making art can be. $110 (plus booking fee) All materials included. Lunch optional
