THE ESSENCE OF BEING ALIVE
Sophia Piccoli
103 Godfrey St Boort
Paintings and prints
As botanical illustrations and birds emerge they capture the essence of being alive and these works are always open to change until the final moment. Sophia says her techniques aim to be spontaneous and bring joy to the viewer. These are works inspired by this place, bold, beautiful and full of life. Sophia will be painting, too, in this pop-up exhibition space in the old bank building, so do drop in to have a chat.
Sophia Piccoli is a Boort artist and art teacher, who continues the creative legacy of her father, whose Spanner Man Garden is one of Loddon’s most visited tourist attractions: “As botanical illustrations and birds emerge they capture the essence of being alive and always open to change until the final moment of drying. My techniques aim to be spontaneous and bring joy to the viewer. My love and time spent with birds and other farm animals since I was a very young girl also inspires my choice of images to paint.”
