Mark Dober, whose mother was born in Laanecoorie and went to the one-room school there, returns for a day of plein-air painting, to share in the Time Travel event at the Memorial Hall.

Mark will be demonstrating at the front of the Hall on Sunday 4 October, 10am-4pm, and you’re invited to come and have a chat about plein-air painting, or to bring your own paints and set up alongside him for a plein-air session.

Mark Dober’s work has been shown in galleries all over the country, including En Plein Air at the Gympie Regional Gallery inn Queensland in 2026. His grandfather, Allen Brownbill, was a farmer in Laanecoorie and his uncle and aunt lived next door. The Brownbill name is still present in the town.
