See Laanecoorie in a new light – or, rather, in an old light. Artist Darron Davies brings vintage cameras and a portable darkroom at the historic Laanecoorie Hall, inviting visitors to have their photo taken and printed using the old-fashioned “tintype” technique that creates an image just like those your great-grandparents had on their walls.

There will be heritage photographs from the region, including when the weir and bridge were constructed. as well as capturing group photos of Laanecoorie people, building a contemporary archive of this fascinating historical Loddon region.

Darron will demonstrate and explain the heritage photographic processes, have works for sale in the hall, and will create an ambience with vintage windup record players. And for a special memory, you can have your own portrait photograph taken, looking like you’ve stepped out of the distant past.

The Laanecoorie Hall archives will also be on display, local cardmaker Heather McCarthy will be demonstrating her work.
